For the first time in four years of teaching, I decided to create an end-of-the-year survey for my students to complete. Throughout the year, I have used Google Forms to survey my students’ interests and needs, but as I was reflecting on this year, I wanted to hear what the students had to say, so I could incorporate their feedback while planning for the upcoming school year (yes, it is already time to start thinking about September!).
I created a brief survey that had the students reflect on their personal growth and learning in the course, along with their views of the course curriculum and instruction. I did not request students’ names, as I wanted each student to be sincere in his or her response. When I sent the survey to my class, I informed the students that I truly value their feedback, and the results from this survey will help for future planning of the course.
